How Woestijn Apotekerie came to be
Growing up in South Africa and having spent the latest half of my life in Namibia, I am used to the harsh climates of Africa and the influence the weather has on my skin.
Driven by my natural curiosity, studies in science and love of chemistry working as a pharmacist, I am delighted to explore the beautiful oils, botanical butters and plant extracts that this continent offers us.
Being a tenth generation descendant of the French Huguenots, who came to South Africa in the 1600’s, I am used to the challenges that this part of the continent throws at an individual, as well as the abundant surprises that it has to offer. My mother, who grew up in the Karoo, installed in me the value of looking after your skin from an early age – and this I would like to share with the world!
